| About the Toccoa River |

|
|
Toccoa in Cherokee means Beautiful River. In 1835, 29 Indians families lived along the banks of the Toccoa River. In 1838 they were sent West on the "Trail of Tears March". The Beautiful River that once supported their lively hood remains, along with the wildlife that lives in the river and a long its banks.
